Amongst many things, one thing that excites me considerably is the start of something new.  I guess I am just wired that way.  I am a starter.  I love to create something out of nothing and watch it grow.  Father God is like that too.

Now as any farmer or gardener will tell you, growing things can be hard work.  Preparing the ground takes time and effort.  Next you plant the seed.  Then comes the waiting.  That period when you cannot see the seed you have planted nor the evidence of the shoot you so desperately hope will appear.  Somehow, you hang in there, knowing that “as long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest time will never fail” (Genesis 8:22).  Creative people, like farmers, are patient people (well mostly).  They will wait as long as it takes for what they have envisaged to become reality.

And so with this blog (and website) I am starting something new.  Equip Women.  A ministry dedicated to helping women grow into all that God meant them to be.  I have started many new things in the past, each one different from the other.  I have felt the excitement of seeing the picture in my head begin to take shape until it became tangible.  Some things I have had to watch come to an end, after it became clear it was not meant to continue.  That was always painful.  But on the other hand, there have been many creations that I have watched grow and become something truly beautiful.

In both instances, I can honestly say it has been worth it.  I have always learned something new from each experience; have grown even amidst the pain of letting go of a project or new ministry that was not meant to be, or something that had come to its natural end.  And of course there has been the sweet taste of seeing a dream fulfilled when my creations have survived and yes, even developed.

So welcome to my blog.  My sincere hope is that it will help you on that journey to becoming the amazing person you were created by the Master Designer to be.  It’s not that I am there yet, not by a long chalk.  I am still traveling my own road to full growth, but I would not have made it this far if it wasn’t for the gracious people (particularly women)  that God brought into my life who helped me in so many ways.  I am so thankful to Him and to them for their obedience.

So I am being obedient to what I believe God has called me to – help equip His saints and women in particular.  I am on the road to full potential.  And I have learned some things along the way.  It would be my great honour to share some of these truths with you.  Please don’t be a stranger.  Visit often.  Don’t be a silent spectator.  Do leave your comments.  I would love to hear your thoughts.

In His Precious Name,

Oge Austin-Chukwu
